There is no way around it. If you have kids, you WILL serve them. They are born without the ability to do anything for themselves so someone must do it for them. That someone ends up being Mom most of the time.

My goal in this service is two-fold. First, I want to show them Christ’s love, through my love for them. Second, I am training them to be servants as well. Service will look different for my girls versus my boy, but I will do my best to turn all of them into little servants (and my son’s wife will be thankful someday). We are born with that sinful nature to please ourselves, no matter the cost. So to twist that way of thinking into putting others first is a very difficult thing. But we really can “do all things through Christ”. Through Christ. Moms, kids, here’s your focus! Though it is hard to push away your own desires for the sake of another, you can do it through Christ! (This line of thinking comes from this blog’s theme scripture–the book of Philippians.)
